About the role

Reporting to Head of Platform, the Java Developer will work within Open Energi’s growing Technology team to develop the functions and capabilities of the IoT software platform, produce software components and features core to the platform and configuration templates specific to sites/projects and maintain the IoT platform to ensure maximum uptime, stability and performance.

You’ll do this by:

•       Develop core software components using Java

•       Develop UI components using JavaScript, HTML and CSS

•       Produce site specific configuration templates for new projects

•       Maintain platform stability and performance through bug fixing and version updates

•       Work closely with other members of the Technology team to ensure the IoT platform meets all necessary business requirements in a timely manner

•       Work closely with the Operations team to support on-site activities and issues

Initially, this role is intended to be primarily remote working with occasional visits to our London office as required or desired. We will discuss your preferences when we invite you to interview. We aim to be as flexible as possible while retaining high levels of cohesion within the team.

What you’ll bring:

We’re looking for someone who has a solid understanding of object-oriented programming, specifically Java, and user interface programming, using JavaScript. Ideally they will have experience with the Tridium Niagara 4 framework otherwise training can be provided. They should be happy working hands-on and collaboratively.


•       Excellent Java programming skills acquired through commercial experience

•       Proficient with JavaScript, HTML and CSS

•       Experience with build tools such as Gradle

•       Experience with unit testing frameworks such as TestNG


•       Tridium Niagara 4 Developer and/or Technical Certification Program certified or relevant experience

•       Experience with and developing for industrial, real-time control systems and IoT

About the role
We are seeking a Management Accountant to join the team during this exciting period of transformation and growth!
Reporting to the Finance Director in this newly created role, you will ensure that business areas have robust financial information to support effective decision making. You will be performing month end duties for our key business areas; producing month end accounts and budget variance reports for our operations and overhead budgets, reviewing weekly Purchase Orders/Goods receipted/Goods receipted not invoiced. You will be managing the project accounts and support the design and implementation of effective quality controls to ensure compliance with all requirements. You will also assist with Year-End accounts and audit work, assist with responses to internal stakeholders on their budgets and spend.

You’ll do this by:
• Analysing financial information to assist business profitability and growth
• Provide accurate and sound management reports
• Produce month end and year end journals
• Prepare monthly management accounts
• Prepare project accounts reports
• Manage capital expenditure
• Produce monthly /ad-hoc reconciliations, variance analysis and commentaries
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
• Guide and motivate the team
• Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
• Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations

What you’ll bring:
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a Management Accountant role
• Qualified Accountant ACA, ACCA, ACMA
• Solid knowledge of basic and advanced accounting and financial principles and practices
• Excellent knowledge of project cost accounting and reporting
• Excellent knowledge of risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting
• Advance knowledge of Microsoft financial software and MS Office software tools including Excel
• Analytical mindset
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• A problem-solver with attention to detail
